Dean has signed a new sponsor just in time for the Bathurst 1000 and some people might be just a little bit confused. The reason being is Dean’s new sponsor is a company called ZINK the element of hair. For those of you who live in Adelaide you are probably already scratching your heads as many of you would know that ZINK are an International Award winning hairdressing salon group, based in South Australia. So why is Dean Canto, the baldest man in V8 Supercars sponsored by a hairdresser? Dean explains:
“It was a chance meeting at an airport when I met Tony Scarfo, ZINK Director. Tony was a V8 fan from way back and had been following me for some time. We were both heading back to Adelaide from Melbourne and got talking about V8’s. With Tony being a hairdresser he knew more about my Alopecia than I did so it wasn’t long before the subject came up as well. It turns out that Antonette – Tony’s wife and ZINK Director had spent years studying the condition so we got chatting about that and my work with young Alopecia sufferers, including working with the Princess Charlotte Alopecia Foundation”.
With their love of motorsport, Italian background, passion for coffee and watersports in common the chance meeting soon turned into a great friendship.
ZINK the element of hair come on board just in time for the Bathurst 1000 this weekend. Keep an eye out for the ZINK logo on Dean’s helmet.
“ZINK the element of hair have been very supportive and great friends to my whole family. They take care of my wife Erin and son Dylan’s hair at their Plympton salon. You’re more than just a customer when you enter a ZINK salon – it’s like joining the family. If they can make me look this good – imagine what they can do with someone with hair!!”
So, if you’re looking for more than just a haircut make sure you head to one of ZINK’s five salons in Edwardstown, Marion, Plympton, Unley and Firle. For more information go to www.zinkhair.com.au
