Dean's New Sponsor Turns Heads!

Dean has signed a new sponsor just in time for the Bathurst 1000 and some people might be just a little bit confused. The reason being is Dean’s new sponsor is a company called ZINK the element of hair. For those of you who live in Adelaide you are probably already scratching your heads as many of you would know that ZINK are an International Award winning hairdressing salon group, based in South Australia. So why is Dean Canto, the baldest man in V8 Supercars sponsored by a hairdresser? Dean explains:
“It was a chance meeting at an airport when I met Tony Scarfo, ZINK Director. Tony was a V8 fan from way back and had been following me for some time. We were both heading back to Adelaide from Melbourne and got talking about V8’s. With Tony being a hairdresser he knew more about my Alopecia than I did so it wasn’t long before the subject came up as well. It turns out that Antonette – Tony’s wife and ZINK Director had spent years studying the condition so we got chatting about that and my work with young Alopecia sufferers, including working with the Princess Charlotte Alopecia Foundation”.
With their love of motorsport, Italian background, passion for coffee and watersports in common the chance meeting soon turned into a great friendship.

ZINK the element of hair come on board just in time for the Bathurst 1000 this weekend. Keep an eye out for the ZINK logo on Dean’s helmet.

“ZINK the element of hair have been very supportive and great friends to my whole family. They take care of my wife Erin and son Dylan’s hair at their Plympton salon. You’re more than just a customer when you enter a ZINK salon – it’s like joining the family. If they can make me look this good – imagine what they can do with someone with hair!!”

So, if you’re looking for more than just a haircut make sure you head to one of ZINK’s five salons in Edwardstown, Marion, Plympton, Unley and Firle. For more information go to www.zinkhair.com.au

Winton V8 Co-Driver Practice

Well it was great to get in the supercar again. 650bhp, big brakes and big tyres. I got my new bottle-o suit and for once it was a perfect fit, although it's a very bright green. I set out for the first 30 minute practice and felt very comfortable with the car straight away. After some scheduled changes throughout the session we finished up 4th on the time sheet which was nice to see.

Practice 2 we had made some fairly big changes for just for a test but it wasn't a good change. Unfortunately it couldnt be changed back during the session as it takes 20 minutes to do, so we carried on throughout the session trying a few other test items. We ended the session in 18th but that wasn't relevant.

After the practice Luke Youlden and I headed to Sydney with our stunt driving mini's for a big day of 90 people on Sunday.

Good Luck Team FPR for the weekend.
