Dean will join the Matt Stone Racing team for this weekend’s Super 3 round at The Bend Motorsport Park as a driver coach with Chris Smerdon in the #39 entry.
Dean: “I caught up with Chris at the QR round and he asked if I’d be willing to coach him at The Bend. Driver coaching is something I really enjoy doing so I jumped at the chance to not only work with Chris, but also with the guys at Matt Stone Racing. They’re a really professional fit out so it will be great to work with them.”
Smerdon goes into Round 4 of the Championship in 3rd place in the Kumho Cup and 8th place overall, 26 points behind 7th position.
On top of his duties with Smerdon, Dean will also be providing some support to Jayden Ojeda, who is currently sitting in 2nd position in the Championship.
Dean: “I’d already agreed to support Chris when the Ojeda’s contacted me. I spoke with Chris and he was happy for me to provide a bit of support to Jayden in between when I could. My first priority will be with Chris but I’ll look over some footage with Jayden and offer some support on the car setup.”
Round 4 of the Super 3 series kicks off tomorrow at the Bend Motorsport Park.
