Dean will have a special message on his helmet, at the Bathurst 1000, to honour a motorsport fan who recently passed away.
Rob Gerace was the cousin of good friend & long time sponsor, Tony Scarfo from Zink. Earlier in the year, Rob was diagnosed with a very rare but serious haematological (blood) disorder. Unfortunately on October 1st Rob lost his battle. His family will farewell him today.
Dean had been planning on visiting Rob in hospital to try & boost his spirits but unfortunately his illness meant he was only allowed limited visitors.
Dean: “Rob was a huge motorsport fan. I’d been coordinating with Tony to visit him in hospital but unfortunately he wasn’t well enough & passed away before I could get there. I wanted to show my support for his family & honour Rob”.
Dean’s helmet will feature the message “in memory of Rob Gerace”. Dean and his family extend there deepest condolences to the Gerace & Scarfo families.
